Camping Tips I have Tried and Use:
-
Use toilet paper tubes filled with lint from dryer as a fire starter.
-
To get charcoal ready faster for cooking, use a charcoal chimney.
-
Use a throw rug or a piece of outdoor carpet in front of your tent to reduce dirt tracked in.
-
Bring flip flops for shower shoes.
-
Metal Canning rings are good for cooking egg sandwich on english muffin or bagels
-
Fill 2 liter and 20 oz soda bottles with water and freeze a few days before trip. Good for food cooler, no melted ice water.
-
Always pack aluminum foil, use to cover dishes and makeshift cooking bowls.
-
When camping in sandy soil use firewood or larger rocks to help secure tent pegs.
-
Use a large duffle bag to store tent in. Keep from tearing tent trying to get everything back into original bag.
-
Get a Cast Iron Pan. Great for cooking on grill or Fire.
-
Bring a Gerber or mult-tool. You will find a use for it.
- Write down a menu of meals for trip. That way you will pack all ingredients for meals and not have to find a store.
- Get a small plastic cutting board to bring with you, always need a clean cutting surface while camping.
